I wanted to share something special to me today, my thoughts how this behemoth haunted my thoughts day and night until I took action on it. Enjoy the read!

But ideas have a way of growing, fueled by passion, by purpose, by the undeniable pull of something bigger than ourselves.

I saw it before it ever existed—a winding path of twinkling lights stretching into the night, a place where families could gather, where children’s laughter mixed with the melodies of holiday music, where the spirit of Christmas came alive in the glow of a half-million lights. Why Here? Why Now?
Cheyenne has always had its share of Christmas spirit, but something has been missing. Families pack into cars and drive for hours to experience extravagant light shows in other states, seeking that awe-inspiring holiday magic. But why should they have to leave? Why shouldn’t Wyoming have its own spectacle, its own tradition—a place where our community can gather year after year, right here at home?
That’s when the dream took shape. It wasn’t just about lights—it was about creating memories. It was about bringing people together in a way that only Christmas can. It was about giving Cheyenne something special, something that would become a part of our town’s holiday fabric.

The early support from businesses like Capital Lumber, Cheyenne Stitch, Day Weather, and Traders has been incredible. Visit Cheyenne, PV Bank, and countless others have voiced their enthusiasm. The excitement is growing, but we’re not there yet.
We need this to be a movement, not just a project. This isn’t something one person can do alone—it takes a community rallying together, showing that when Cheyenne comes together, we create something magical.

With any large-scale community initiative, there will be questions and concerns. And we welcome them.
🚗 Will this disrupt local wildlife? The Hereford Ranch has long been a place of natural beauty, and we are definitely taking a gentle approach to ensure that our light display does not disrupt the local ecosystem. We are taking precautions to ensure minimal environmental impact while still creating a breathtaking experience for visitors.
💰 Is there a cost to attend? Yes, this event will be ticketed to help cover the extensive setup costs and to keep it running smoothly. However, we are working on sponsorships to offer discounts and giveaways for families who may not be able to afford it.
🙌 How can local businesses get involved? We are actively seeking sponsors and partners who want to be part of bringing this Christmas tradition to life. Sponsorships come with perks, and every business involved will be recognized for their contribution to this community experience.
